Set a pin in the middle of the crossmember. When the athlete is in the start position of the shoulder press and ready to begin pressing, the bands should be vertical as viewed from the side. This same setup can be done with safety spotter arms and will have the same band tensions as shown above (see Squats: Re-direct Spotter Arms, p. 37).
