In this setup, the bands will deload the bar as you begin - which means the barbell will get lighter as you lower it to the chest. As you begin pressing off the chest the band tension will decrease and the bar will once again get heavier. Use a girth hitch placed in the center of the top crossmember. When the athletes are in the start position and ready to begin the lift the bands should be vertical as viewed from the side.
